New Footscray Studio Relocation FAQ: Bookings, Deposits, Aftercare, Parking

What Our Move to Footscray Means for Your Tattoo

Our studio is moving from Malvern to Footscray, and we want to make this shift as smooth as possible for you. The new space gives us more room, better layout, and a neighbourhood with a strong creative feel. That means more comfort for longer sessions and a relaxed spot to hang out before and after your tattoo.

All of your current bookings, deposits, and records are safe and will come with us to the new tattoo shop in Footscray. You will not lose your time slot, your design work, or any notes we already have about your ideas. From your side, it should feel like the same appointment, just at a new address.

What stays the same is just as important as what changes. You will still see the same artists, with the same focus on Sak Yant, Japanese pieces, minimalist work, blackwork, and custom designs. Our hygiene standards, clean setup, and personal, one-on-one approach do not change just because the postcode does.

Updating Your Existing Booking at Our New Studio

If you already have an appointment booked, it will automatically move to our new Footscray timetable. We will contact you by email, SMS, or phone with the updated details, including the new address and any timing notes. You do not need to re-book from scratch.

If the new location changes your travel time, it is easy to adjust your appointment. You can:

  • Confirm your existing time if it still suits you
  • Ask to shift the start time to allow for extra travel
  • Request a different day if you prefer certain train or traffic times

If you want to extend your booking for a bigger piece now that we are in the new space, let us know when we message you. We can look at adding extra hours or planning an extra session so you are not rushed.

Some clients like to think about timing with the weather or personal events. Heading towards the end of winter and into spring, you might decide to:

  • Move your session slightly earlier so healed skin is ready for a trip or event
  • Shift to a date where you will not be in strong sun while healing
  • Plan larger pieces when you can wear loose layers without overheating

Talk with us about what suits your skin, schedule, and comfort. We are happy to help you pick a date that feels right.

How Deposits Work During the Relocation

Your deposit is still yours. Every existing deposit stays attached to the same artist and booking, no matter that we are going from Malvern to Footscray. The move does not reset your place in line or your payment.

If you are unsure about travelling to the new location, we can look at options. In general:

  • Deposits can be moved to a new date if you give fair notice
  • Partial refunds may be possible in some cases if you contact us within our notice period
  • Deposits may be forfeited if there is very short notice or a no-show, as they cover time already set aside for you

For new bookings at the Footscray studio, deposits work in a similar way. They hold your spot and support the design time that goes into Sak Yant, Japanese work, and other custom pieces. This includes drawing, planning placement, and preparing stencils or reference material before you arrive.

If you are not sure how your deposit will be handled in your situation, ask us before you change or cancel anything so we can explain your options clearly.

Aftercare, Check-Ups, and Remote Support Options

Your aftercare does not stop just because our address changes. Whether your tattoo was started in Malvern or at the new studio, we continue to support you through the full healing process. You still get clear aftercare instructions at the end of your session, as always.

In-person check-ups are available at the Footscray shop. These can be helpful if:

  • You have a large or detailed piece, like a Japanese back or sleeve
  • You feel unsure whether what you see is normal healing
  • You think you may need a small touch-up once the skin settles

Warmer weather can affect how you dress, sweat, and move, so a follow-up around the start of spring can be useful for fresh tattoos that might rub under lighter clothing or during more outdoor time.

If you live further away or find the trip hard, remote support is still an option. You can send us:

  • Clear, well-lit photos of the whole tattoo and close-ups of any spots you are worried about
  • Notes on how long ago the tattoo was done
  • A quick rundown of the products you are using and how often

Video calls or detailed messages can help us give you more accurate advice if needed. The more detail you share, the better we can guide you.

Getting to Our Footscray Tattoo Shop with Ease

Footscray is well connected, so getting to the new studio is usually straightforward. Many clients find the train the easiest, as Footscray is a key station with frequent services from the inner suburbs. Trams and buses also link the area with other parts of Melbourne.

When planning your trip, think about:

  • Your usual peak-hour traffic or train crowding
  • Allowing extra time for delays, especially if it is your first visit
  • Picking a route that lets you arrive calm, not rushed and stressed

If you are driving, you will find a mix of free and ticketed parking around the area. Common options include:

  • Short-stay street parking with time limits
  • Longer-stay spots a short walk away
  • Council signs that may change with seasons or local events

Always read the signs carefully so your car is safe for the length of your session, especially for big pieces that can take a few hours.

On tattoo day, it helps to travel prepared. Many clients like to bring:

  • A water bottle and a small snack
  • A hoodie or jacket in case the studio feels cool
  • Headphones or something to listen to, if that helps you relax

Arriving 10 to 15 minutes early gives you time to settle in, use the bathroom, and chat through the last details with your artist.

Book Your Next Piece at Our New Footscray Home

Our move from Malvern to Footscray is all about giving you a better space for your tattoo, from first consult through to healed result. The new studio is purpose-built, clean, and set up so we can focus fully on your piece, whether it is a Sak Yant, a Japanese design, a minimalist idea, blackwork, or something completely custom.

Weekend and evening spots are often the first to fill, so it helps to confirm or adjust your booking as soon as you know your plans. If you have questions about how the relocation affects your appointment, deposit, aftercare, or how to get to the new studio, ask us before your session so we can clear everything up and you can simply relax into the tattoo experience.
